A hub of new music and collaboration, the Contemporary Art Music Project (CAMP) hosts its fourth international new music festival CAMPGround25 March 13-15, 2025 in Tampa, FL. Showcasing compositions in any style, performance medium, and aesthetic, the three-day festival programs 20-25 compositions and world premieres, and features CAMP25 commissioned composer Chihchun Chi-sun Lee, guest ensemble PAN Project, and CAMPGround25 performing artists.
2025 is the year of musical marriage – CAMP is excited to collaborate with a global music project rooted in East Asian traditions:ensemble PAN Project. PAN Project brings music productions to the international stage that span many cultures and invites audiences into an exhilarating world of music that juxtaposes tradition with innovation.
CAMP invites composers and creators to submit works/installation proposals for the PAN Project and/or CAMPGround25 performing artists. Please read the guidelines below for available performers and instruments.
The Contemporary Art Music Project provides free housing for student composers who are currently enrolled in high school or college (undergraduate or graduate program) during the festival.
General Guidelines
- This call is open to all composers regardless of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, nationality, or any other identifications. Those belonging to disadvantaged or underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.
- Works composed from 2018 onward are eligible.
- Previously performed compositions are eligible.
- Composers can submit up to two (2) works total across categories or from the same category (SEE LIST OF CATEGORIES BELOW – UNDER INSTRUMENTATION CATEGORIES). A $10USD non-refundable entry fee is required for each submitted work (up to $20USD). Pay it through PayPal to info@contemporaryartmusicproject.org with “FIRSTNAME LASTNAME CAMPGround25” in the notes.
- Works between 5 to 20 min. in length in any style, aesthetic, and notation will be accepted.
- Selected composers must register and attend the festival.
- The Contemporary Art Music Project is NOT responsible for providing or reimbursing any travel or lodging expenses for selected participants and their own performers. Official letters of invitation will be provided upon request to help secure funding from grants or institutions that a participant may be affiliated with.
- The Contemporary Art Music Project provides free housing to student composers who are currently enrolled in high school or college (undergraduate or graduate program).
- If selected, a non-refundable registration fee of $75 will be due by December 31, 2024 to secure participation in the festival. Failure to pay this fee will result in forfeiting your spot to the next applicant on the waitlist. Pay it through PayPal to info@contemporaryartmusicproject.org with “FIRSTNAME LASTNAME CAMPGround25 Registration” in the notes.

COMPOSITIONS INVOLVING PAN PROJECT INSTRUMENTS
Compositions submitted that include instruments from PAN Project (see available instruments listed above) will be reviewed by PAN Project performers for idiomatic and stylistic playability. We are especially looking for compositions that exhibit a strong knowledge of the instrument’s cultural music language and idiomatics in a way that positions Chinese, Korean and/or Japanese music strongly within the mixed ensemble piece.
Submission Guidelines
- Submission Deadline: October 31, 2024 at 11:59pm EDT (UTC-4)
- Each composer may submit up to two (2) works.
- Submissions must include a legible score (if applicable) or performance instruction and a link to a recording (MIDI is acceptable).
- Include a link (Google, Dropbox, or other file sharing platforms) to a pdf file of scores or performance instructions.
- Include a link (YouTube, Vimeo, Google, Dropbox, or other streaming platforms) to audio or video recording. MIDI is acceptable.
- Please, make sure all links remain accessible until March 31, 2025. The use of file transfer services like WeTransfer is prohibited.
- If applicable, please include a brief program note (200 words maximum).
- EA Submissions must include a complete tech rider.
Instrument Categories
- Solo instrument/voice without piano accompaniment
- Duo with any subset of the listed instruments
- Mixed ensemble (3 to 8 performers) of any subset of the listed instruments
- Percussion ensemble (2 to 6 players)
- Intercultural mixed instrument ensemble for PAN Project or PAN Project and CAMP performing artists – any subset of the listed instruments
- Fixed media (i.e., acousmatic)
- Fixed media or live electronics with 1-5 performers
- Composer provides performer(s) – any instrumentation is acceptable and can include one or more festival performers

Selected composers will be informed no later than November 30, 2024.
If selected, the festival registration fee of $75USD is due by December 31, 2024.
