CAMP President Eunmi Ko talks with composer Soobin Lee, one of the PROJECT GŪT composers and the organizer of the project.
굿 (Gūt) is a Korean ritual performed by shamans acting as a mediator between the present and past, communicating with ancestors and descendants. With generous support from the Arts Council Korea, CAMP collaborated with four Korean composers – Sangbin Rhie, Seokmin Mun, Soobin Lee, and Youshin Gim to reimagine the ritual, contemplating the meaning of life and death. The commissioned works were online premiered in January 2022 and now it will be premiered in person at the University of South Florida on October 7.
